Introduction – Welcome!

Hi Guys!

Welcome to my blog! This is something I have been wanting to set up for the longest time ever, with a little encouragement from my family and friends – here it is!

Like most girls, I have always had an interest in hair and makeup. Since a young age I loved to experiment with different colours and styles. The older I became, the more I wanted to do. This blog will concentrate on makeup, colours, styles, techniques and any new products that I think are worth mentioning. I am the biggest makeup junkie on the planet, and probably own every single product currently out there, but I love trying new things and recommending to family and friends.

Makeup is an art, and I view the face as a canvas – there are techniques, and specific ways to apply a product. This is what I hope to talk to you all about. Please do comment below and let me know if there is anything you would like me to cover. This blog is to help you learn. I love waking up every morning and creating a new look. I was in Paris last month and it was uber chic! Not because it is a beautiful city, but because the women and the fashion are to die for. I loved waking up every morning with a new makeup look – which I hope to share with you all in the coming weeks.

I am training to become a makeup artist. This is a hobby that I enjoy very much. I like to recommend and review new products as I am always being asked ‘what is the best mascara to use’ ‘what foundation do you think will suit my skin’. I have always loved to write, and what could be better than to combine my two loves together? I could spend countless hours wondering the makeup aisles (which I have been known to do) with my girlfriends and checking out all the latest goings on. I hope you will all follow my makeup journey – seeing me create new looks and furthering my knowledge about the world of beauty.

Makeup can fill a woman with confidence and it is amazing what you can create with very few products. I am a big believer in bringing out natural beauty and features and emphasising on that. I made over a girlfriend of mine a few weeks ago for a wedding that we attended and she had the most amazing skin to work with – so for me, less was more with her. I have got lots of exciting news and looks planned for this blog, so please stay tuned. I hope to be able to look back on this in years to come and see my progress! I hope you all enjoy my journey too! Be sure to follow me on Social Media too:

My instagram is updated almost daily, go check it out and you will see all my handy tips and tricks, special offers, discounts, dupes and new makeup looks.

Just for your reference – please take a look at the ‘about me‘ page where I explain my skin type and features. I just want to make clear that what works for me, may not necessarily work on your skin and as with every product, it is always best to do a test patch first. Generally speaking, I tend to use different products across the spectrum, ranging from drug store to high end luxury. There will be products I recommend which will be easily affordable, and for any high end luxury products I do use, I will always recommend a tried and tested affordable one.

I am currently undertaking classes and workshops to further my knowledge into the world of makeup – and will be sure to keep you updated.

Please keep your eyes peeled for lots to come on the blog, including special features and skincare tips. As much as I love makeup, I also love to take care of my skin too and I hope to share my skincare routine with you all. The base of your canvas (the face) is so important. If you do not look after that, then your makeup will not apply well. My motto is ‘Clean Skin is Happy Skin’ and is something I have always lived by.

Since the age of 16 I have been taught to look after my skin. My mother is just as much of a makeup and beauty junkie as I am – so I guess that’s where I get it from. I love looking after my skin and as much as makeup is so much fun to wear, so is looking after it. If there are any younger girls reading this in their teens, I highly advise you start getting yourselves into the habit of cleansing your skin every day. This will ensure all the daily dirt and grime is wiped off and leaves your skin feeling great. This rule applies to women of all ages too – but the key to great skin as we all know is water and lots of it. It is very important to stay hydrated and keep your skin looking clean. Many stresses of life can often contribute to those unwanted lines and wrinkles, but as long as you have the right products to use, these lines and wrinkles can gradually disappear.

As I entered a milestone age this year I noticed a change in my skin and for that I upped my skincare game. I can’t wait to share it with you guys in the coming weeks. If you follow me on Instagram you will know that the skincare brand I most favour is Liz Earle. I have recommended this range probably to every single person I know and they all loved it and gave nothing but great feedback. If you haven’t already, I highly suggest you check it out.

Thank you for reading!

Wow Annie loving your blog. Very good makeup advice. Keep up the good work. Mum will be following you all the way and giving you my full support. If you need an assistant I’m always hare. Please can you also give advice on makeup for mature skin. Especially foundations and concealers. I’m always having a problem finding a foundation that suits me. They always give me a cakey look. Will be waiting for your reply. Happy blogging. 👍🏼

Try Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion – it prevents the shadow from creasing and ensures it stays on all day! Available from Debenhams, House of Fraser and John Lewis. Hope this helps xoxo
