Ever since news of this hot collaboration, I have been (impatiently) awaiting its release. Gwen Stefani is an all time fashion icon for me. She is cool, funky, stylish and has plenty of sass! I remember purchasing my first No Doubt single, it was constantly on repeat. Every single after that which followed was pretty much the same. I have always loved her.
This amazing palette created by Gwen and the Urban Deacy team is one hot piece of makeup. Everything from the cover to the shades was carefully selected by Gwen herself and in my opinion this is one of the best ever palettes Urban Decay has ever made! I love all of the palettes Urban Decay have created, but this one probably tops it for me. It is aesthetically pleasing to look at.
The palette has a funky art deco design with black, white and gold encasing. You can tell it mimics Gwen’s style. The front of the palette has Gwen’s stamp on the product which I love and the mirror even has lyrics to her song. Each shade represents some point of Gwen’s lifetime and musical career. Shades such as 1987, the year that No Doubt formed and Anaheim where she was raised through to Harajuku. The shade names are very appropriate to her life.
The colours in this palette minus the last row are everyday wearable shades. I would probably still wear the bottom row though because I’m extra like that! I was surprised at how many neutral and earthy tones Gwen had included in this palette, but I’m glad she did. I will definitely be reaching for this one everyday. I had expected this palette to be bursting with brightness, but it’s not and I’m completely okay with that. It just means I will be wearing this pretty much everyday! Thanks Gwen! Twelve of the shades are brand new and have been formulated just for this release. Three of them are already in the existing collection.
The packaging is sturdy, but the palette is pretty compact which makes it perfect for travelling. It also looks stunning on my vanity!
This is a limited edition release, so be quick to get your hands on one! It’s currently on sale for £40 and it’s available right here.
Have you got it already? Do you love it? Would love to know your thoughts!
