My much awaited review on Kylie Jenner’s lip kits is finally here! A few delays due to shipping taking absolutely forever. These kits are seriously so difficult to get hold of. People are losing their minds over these including me! Before I get to the actual review, let me fill you in on my nightmare of an experience ordering these.
Kylie has frequent restocks every fortnight to a week. Lately it seems to be weekly almost, but you have to be so quick on the mark because a single mistake or typo at checkout can cost you a lip kit! Once you have checked out and you click to order, the ordering process takes around 2 minutes to go through. Now on 3 occasions my order has processed, and then quickly told me that my chosen lip kits are out of stock. Hence why I have ended up with duplicates even triplets of the same colour. The first restock sold out within seconds and each restock thereafter seemed to get better and better.
Shipping on my orders has taken well over 2 weeks and I have been hit by customs every single time. So far, I have paid just shy of £50 in customs alone. One of my orders was held for almost 2 weeks by Parcel Force. The service is atrocious. The fact that I had to keep chasing angered me even more. One of my True Brown orders arrived opened, but luckily the product had not been tampered with. Ordering these kits is about as stressful as buying a house – you don’t know if you’ve got the colour you want until the end! Slight exaggeration on my part, but that’s how I felt. Due to my unfortunate experiences at checkout, some of my lip kits were purchased through private sellers. I didn’t actually pay crazy prices either, so I did get lucky in that sense.
What is Included
1 x Liquid Lipstick
1 x Lip Liner
If you love to wear matte liquid lipstick, you will know that it feels dry on the lips. That is just the reality of the formula. I am use to matte lipsticks, so I don’t mind. As soon as I opened the box I noticed how heavy the stick was – it holds a lot of product. The lip liner is super creamy and easy to apply. There are various colours to try too. I picked up Dolce K, Koko K, Candy K, True Brown K, 22 and Kourt K. The lip liner is super creamy and I love how it applies. It is even better than Mac lip liners! My only qualm is that my True Brown is quite runny and I have to be careful opening and closing it so I don’t lose any product.
When I first applied these I noticed straight away the colours are like nothing I have ever owned before. They just look and feel different and you can just tell you are wearing something special on your lips. Since I have had these, I wear them all the time and let me tell you how long lasting they are! One day I had it on since 6.30am and it lasted all the way through to 10pm at night and that included me eating 4 times. The first time I wore this, I knew this was something special. I noticed the sweet Vanilla scent straight away when I applied this to my lips, and I know some people have said it’s over powering but I really love it.
The colours are typically nude and very 90’s – this is right up my street. I love Mauves and neutral shades. Many people have complained about the formula being drying, but honestly for me, it was fine. I have used other brands which are a lot drying and flaky. I feel quite confident in saying this is one of the best formulas on the market right now.
Why Do You Need This?
If your a lipstick addict like me, then trust me when I say you NEED this in your life. Not only the colours that are strikingly different, the formula is long lasting and YES it IS worth the hype! When these initially launched in November last year, I was not that fussed in the slightest. Then slowly the reviews started coming out and people started raving about the colours. I am typically one of those people who will want a product if everyone is buying it because I am easily influenced – especially when it comes to makeup. I honestly wasn’t expecting much when I ordered it, but as soon as I put the colours on, it’s safe to say I fell in love! Don’t fall for the eBay hype and pay a crazy price. There are plenty of restocks to ensure everyone has a fair chance of getting their hands on one.

I did order Kourt K, it arrived I was highly disappointed. It seems as though there is an issue with the formula, as it applied extremely dry and cracked on me. Within seconds of putting it on, there was lots of dry residue around my lips, patchiness and generally an uneven tone of colour. I have complained to Kylie Cosmetics, so I will let you know what the outcome was. Here is a swatch of the awful Kourt K formula:
As you can see, there is a build up of product and the swatch appears streaky. When I applied this to my lips, it looked even worse and I had to take it off within minutes.
