Urban Decay Alice in Wonderland Palette and Lipsticks Review

Makeup lovers – are you ready for review of the year? Urban Decay have done it again! They have teamed up with Disney once more to bring us ‘Alice Through The Looking Glass‘ palette. This coincides with the release of the movie of course.

I am a Disney lover – I will never get old of it. When I heard Urban Decay were releasing this palette – I was all over it! Speaking to contacts, making lots of phone calls and doing everything in my power to get this palette on the day it released. Thanks to my Makeup Babe Aisha from Lipstick & Daydreams, I was was able to get this on the pre-launch on 28th April. Girlfriend hooked me up good. I managed to get the palette and the full set of lipsticks.

Packaged in a wonderfully delightful kaleidoscope design, this print is totally insane and totally Alice. I live for pieces like this and I am all about that packaging. This collection has completely exceeded my expectations in every sense and here’s why..

Each row represents a character from the film:

Row 1 – Alice
Row 2 – Mad Hatter
Row 3 – The White Queen
Row 4 – The Red Queen
Row 5 – Time

This palette is everything that Urban Decay stands for. They have well and truly gone back to their routes with this. It is fun, creative and totally wild.

The little touches make it that extra bit more special. I love this 3D butterfly, it looks so magical. The only downside is that there is no imagery of any of the characters on the palette which would have been nice to see, but when I picked it up I could tell straight away it was a Tim Burton inspired movie.

Mystical, weird and wonderful with an enormous twist of colour. This palette is bursting with 20 never before soon shades. Here are the swatches:

This is the first row, from L-R: Metamorphosis, Dormouse, Reflection and Looking Glass.

Second Row L-R: Cake, Paradox, Gone Mad and Hatter.

Third Row, L-R: Chessboard, Kingdom, Duchess and Lily.

Fourth Row, L-R: Royal Flush, Salazen Grum, Bandersnatch and Heads Will Roll.

Fifth Row, L-R: Mirror, Chronosphere, Dream On and Time.

So typically speaking, I don’t think the formula of the eyeshadows is anything like the usual shadows Urban Decay do. The texture feels a little different and you may need to go in a few times to get some good colour pay off (I advise using Fix Plus to intensify the colour) The most intense row with the best colour pay off is the last column ‘Time’ pictured just above.

Typically, these will not be your every day colours. This palette will inspire you to create some fun and wild looks. It is not for the faint hearted. If you are shy with your makeup looks, this palette isn’t for you. If it’s not for you, but you still want it – BUY IT! It’s a collectors piece and will be like nothing you have ever owned before.

Quirky touches on the palette with the quotes gives it a really nice feel. It’s just so special and I am in love <3  My favourite quote on the palette has to be ‘We’re all mad here!’

Obviously this is not a travel friendly piece – I wouldn’t dream of transporting this anywhere!

I love this palette so much but I am a tiny bit disappointed with the colours. Nonetheless I am glad I own this because it’s just so pretty.

All of the lipstick shades minus the Iracebeth are sheer but buildable. Iracebeth has to be my favourite though because it’s matte. I will be likely to use these lipsticks under a liquid lipstick to enhance the colour.

I believe these are now sold out at most boutiques, but Feel Unique still have this collection which is available to buy right here. Did you get yours? Did you love it? Comment below and let me know xo
