So I finally managed to get my hands on these notoriously hard to get lip liners. I picked Bombshell and Gossip Gurl. I purchased mine from Cult Beauty at £16 each. It’s usually very like me to get quite a handful of colours, but I was treading carefully and wanted to try just a couple out to begin with. Everyone has been raving about the formula, so I was intrigued to put it to the test.
The price point was a big turn off for me which is why I didn’t purchase these the first time they came out. You know what social media hype is like – Instagram is probably the worst for making you buy things you never knew you needed. Did I really need to spend £32 on 2 lip ‘contours’? Not really. Am I an idiot? Yes.
The box has a rubber luxe feel to it and the logo has a metallic finish. Huda Beauty has spent money on the packaging you can tell. The lip liner is sturdy and doesn’t break when you sharpen it. Some lip liners are so soft they split when you use them.
There are 9 colours to choose from across the spectrum. There are nudes, mauves and deep berries. There will be a shade in there to suit everyone.
The formula on these lip contours is super creamy and blendable, unlike the MAC liners. You can even wear these alone with a touch of gloss, or under liquid lipstick to line your lips.
I wore the lip contour under my Kylie Lipkit ‘Koko’ and boy did it last. I had one big meal followed by dessert and my lipstick had not budged. It’s almost like the lip contour acted like a barrier. It also enhanced the colour of the lipstick. It stayed on me ALL day. I was quite impressed. I guess it was worth the investment and I shall be throwing out all my other lip liners.
Would I Re-Purchase?
As I have given up on MAC lip liners for being too ridged, yes I would repurchase. My only qualm is that these are more available to people because they sell out very quickly. I will probably be buying more to add to my collection..
Everyone is jumping on the liquid lipstick/lip liner bandwagon these days and it’s important not to fall prey to it. I bought these as my duty to you all for a solid review. Okay and maybe the fact that I secretly wanted these too to try out. Huda Beauty drops her liquid lipstick line on 29th July which falls on National Lipstick Day. Will you be buying any? I have read quite a few reviews whereby bloggers have said her formula is similar to that of Kylie Cosmetics very first run. The formula that EVERYONE loved. Purely for a comparison, I will buy one or two colours to try. I already have my eye on 2 colours!
What did you think of the Huda Beauty Lip Contours? Did you buy any?
