Get ready for some serious highlight envy!
Everyone has been lusting after these Cover FX Custom Enhancing drops ever since they were previewed on Instagram a few months ago. Like many I was intrigued and fascinated, especially since I love to glow. These are in liquid form though and they are heavenly! I picked two shades from 2 different places because these are always out of stock everywhere. I got Sunlight from Space NK, and Celestial from Beauty Bay. I need Moonlight in my life so badly! I had no choice but to get these two for now because they were all sold out at the same time. Each bottle costs £34.
These highlighters give me such an intense shine and whenever I wear them, I always get asked what it is that I am wearing on my cheekbones.
The easiest way for me to review these was to split it into 2 catergories. I think with this product your either on board or not. Speaking to a lot of people about this, and they either loved them or hated them. Many people are put off by liquid highlighters and I will be the first to admit I was too, until I tried these and fell in love. So let’s break it down…
- A little goes a long way
- Each bottle will last you forever
- Good colour range to choose from (light-dark)
- High quality
- High shine
- Intense glow
- Easy to blend
- Multi uses
- Easy application
- Great for your makeup kit
- Very small bottle for the price you pay
- Hard to get
- Always out of stock
- May not always work on oily skin
Now I just want to touch on one of the cons that concerned a lot of people like me who suffer from oily skin. We often have this misconception that if we use liquid based products, it will accentuate the shine. I was ready in advance to sell these once I had used them if they made my skin look oily/greasy. To my surprise, they didn’t and I fell in love. If your concerned about using these on oily skin, don’t be. I have the world’s worst oiliest skin and if my skin can handle it, so can yours!
I use a damp beauty blender to apply the cover fx drops. I used the back of my hand as a palette and dipped the beauty blender into it to get the product onto the sponge. I went over my face and sprayed my trusty Fix Plus after application for that extra dewy finish. It took me very little time to blend and apply this product and as I mentioned, the smallest pea size amount will be more than sufficient. Don’t go crazy with it otherwise you’ll look like you’ve been dipped in metal!
