I’ve been shopping again loves! Eeek! I am loving drugstore products so much at the moment. I use to find there was a stigma attached to cheaper brands, but since the likes of Makeup Revolution came about, lower end brands are really killing it at the moment. I was once the drugstore snob, but since I’ve experimented with a few products, I can confidently say some of these drugstore brands are now firm favourites.
What Did I Get?
- Makeup Revolution Ultra Pro Glow Palette – £10
- L’oreal Infallible Matte Foundation ‘Sand’ – £7.99
- L’oreal Infallible Matte Foundation ‘Honey’ – £7.99
- L’oreal Brow Artist Shaper ‘Brunette’ – £4.99
- Maybelline Lip Drama ‘Never Bare’– £4.99
- Maybelline Eraser Eye Concealer ‘Light’ – £7.99
I purchased all of my products in store in Superdrug. All L’oreal and Maybelline items are currently 3 for 3 hence why I picked up two shades of foundation. I was worried they may not be the exact matches so I picked up 2 colours thinking I would mix them together. In actual fact – Sand and Honey worn alone both suit my complexion perfectly.
I did stock up on the eraser eye concealer not long ago, but whenever there is an offer with Maybelline, I always pick one up because I go through these so quickly. I love this concealer SO much.
Makeup Revolution Ultra Glow Palette
I am so overwhelmed with this palette because it’s that amazing! It’s in a league of its own and I’ve been wearing it non stop since I bought it 2 weeks ago. I mix 2-3 colours together and boy do I glow. For £10 this has the best colours and pigmentation and is my favourite Makeup Revolution palette to date. My friend Vicky posted about this on her snapchat and I instantly fell in love. When Vicky says it’s good, she means business. I went out and got it the very next day! The colours are versatile for a bronze goddess or cool toned down look. The texture is less ‘out’ there than the Sleek Solstice palette, but it still gives an amazing subtle glow. The look I had intended was subtle, and then I saw my pictures back and I was on fire with this highlight. One light sweep is enough for a natural glow and 2-3 sweeps (which is what I used) gives you an amazing shine! I’m not going to complain about glowing to the gods.
L’Oreal Infallible Matte Foundation
It’s been very hot lately and I feel like my usual foundation (MAC Studio Fix) isn’t doing it for me anymore. I picked this up on a whim because it said matte – and I have very oily skin. I used this the very next day and I had around 60% less oil on my face. This dries totally matte on the skin and I applied it using the Real Techniques Bold Metal Sponge. For £7.99 I am very impressed and it tames my skin!
L’oreal Brow Artiste Shaper
This is a great little alternative to the ABH Brow Wiz. The pencil is thicker so I feel it gives you more coverage. I wouldn’t say it’s a dupe, but if your after a brow pencil on a budget – this is a good one.
Maybelline Lip Drama
This a highly pigmented lip cream which does not budge. It gives you intense colour in one shot and the sponge applicator makes it very easy to apply. This a staple in my handbag now and I love that it smells like watermelon! I love this product so much I am going to buy the rest of the colours. If you want to try something other than a matte liquid lipstick – check out this hyper intense lip paint.
Maybelline Eraser Eye Concealer
You are probably sick of me talking about this product now – so I’ll just link my last article right here and leave you with the words NEED!
