I am a total skincare junkie so I was over the moon when I had the chance to try this sponge by a company called The Konjac Sponge Co. I religiously exfoliate my skin once a week, but I am always looking for new techniques to try. Usually I use a muslin cloth, but when this landed on my desk, I knew I was onto a winner.
What Do We Know About Konjac?
Konjac is a vegetable fibre which is blended with various clays and also powders. This is then used to target your specific skin concern. For me, because I suffer with oily skin, the charcoal powder in this sponge will help me greatly.
How To Use
I soak the sponge in water for a minute or so, squeezing out the excess water. This will cause the sponge to become squishy. I massage this into my skin in circular motions gently exfoliating all over the areas of concern. Once I’m done, I wash the sponge thoroughly and hang it to dry. It comes with a handy string which means it dries quickly. It is important not to leave the sponge hanging wet because it will cause the sponge to go mouldy quite quickly. If taken care of correctly, this sponge can last anywhere between 1-3 months and it is important to change it every few months to avoid the build up of bacteria.
Does It Really Work?
Each sponge is carefully handmade, and you can feel the benefits on your skin straight after using it. My skin feels soft and smooth and after each exfoliate, I am glowing. I do like to follow up my routine with a spritz of oil on my face after I have toned and moisturise. If you like to look after your skin, then this is worth trying as it really does make my skin feel pretty great. I wear a lot of makeup, so I need that deep exfoliate quite often. Konjac Sponges can be used up to twice a day without fear of over-exfoliating as the Konjac fibre is so gentle on the skin.
Give Me The Good Stuff
Some important facts to note about this sponge and the company – which matter to me a lot when I’m choosing a brand:

Do I Need This?
This is a great idea for exfoliating and you like to have a deep clean on your face, then this sponge is for you. My skin feels revitalised and soft – and the main thing is it gets rid of all the dirt and grime my skin accumulates over the week. A must try for die hard skin junkies, and if your not, then you still need to try this. If this heart shaped sponge won’t tempt you, then it’s deep cleaning properties certainly will!
