I love budget beauty without having to break the bank and when I saw that Simple had a new cleansing oil out – I just had to try it. I’ve seen this oil being promoted a lot over social media and it’s not your typical cleanser because it’s oil based. I do like to use a oil as a nightly skin treatment, but it seemed interesting to use as a cleanser.
It is made from 100% natural grape seed oil dissolving makeup and the formula is non greasy too. I use as a makeup remover and cleanser so it works as a double duty product. I don’t go straight in and remove my makeup with this – I use Micellar water on the eyes, and then Cucumber wipes for the face.
You need just 2 tiny drops to use this. I drop this straight into the palm of my hands, warm it up and massage it onto my face dry. It doesn’t say anywhere not to use it on the eyes, but the American packaging does say that. I have chosen to ignore this as the UK packaging does not give any indication of this. I don’t rub it directly into my eyes, but gently massaged around the area. I then go in and just wash it wash with cold water.
I really like how this oil makes my skin feel after. It’s not greasy at all and my face really soft and smooth which I was surprised about. It gives the feeling of a proper cleansed face.
As always, to help you determine if this is the right product for you – let’s go through some pro’s and cons:
- Decent formula
- Good texture
- Soft and smooth
- Non greasy
- Thin and light texture
- No artificial fragrance
- No pump action so, can be messy and it has leaked
- Can’t be used on the eyes (although this is questionable)
- Strong oil scent
- A quick note about the strong oil scent – this does disappear after you wash the oil off.
Have you tried this yet?
