L'oreal Infallible Total Cover Foundation

I love that L’oreal are introducing different lines into their infallible range. Since I love Pro-Glow so much, I wanted to try this new one which claims to offer full coverage.

The texture is quite thick which feels like foam and you need the tiniest amount to give you decent coverage. The first negative I noticed straight away was that the formula was difficult to blend. I did use a beauty blender though and this probably didn’t do me any favours. Due to thickness of the formula, I recommend using a brush to apply.

What I like about this foundation though is the coverage it gives – it really is total cover.

During my testing period I had this foundation on for 10 hours and there was no noticeable patchiness or oiliness. However, the second time I wore this, there was a few dry patches on my face especially around the nose area and I can’t think what I had done differently. I am going to try this mixed in with a lighter foundation such a Pro-Glow as I feel it will lighten the consistency.

Discover Infallible Total Cover Foundation for a flawless, full coverage base that lasts up to 24 hours. The zero compromise, camouflage formula covers everything from blemishes, redness and tattoos without the overload, while the matte finish leaves you with an even, shine-free base. NO COMPROMISE. NO TRANSFER. NO OVERLOAD

30% more pigment allows for more coverage using less product. Lightweight and easy to blend, thanks to unique camo stretch technology. Longwear transfer-free formula lasts up to 24 hours

As always, I will drop the pros and cons below to help you decide if this is the foundation for you.

  • Long lasting
  • Full coverage
  • Large shade selection for light skin tones
  • Comparable to high end foundation
  • Great for oily skin (no breakouts on the t zone)
  • A little goes a long way
  • Good value for the price you pay

  • Limited shade selection for dark skin tones
  • Patchy around nose area
  • Difficult to blend with Beauty Blender
  • May need mixing with a lightweight foundation
  • Applied with two layers and it can look ‘caked on’
  • Hard texture
  • Thick consistency
  • Need to work with it very quickly

I picked up the shade Sand and have done a swatch for you below:

You can see what I mean about the thick and foam like consistency – it is quite weighty.

I have shown the swatch blended out too so you get an idea of the coverage.

L’oreal are doing amazing with all their new releases – all of which I have loved so far, but I am still on the fence with this one.

You can purchase the foundation right here for only £9.99.

Would you recommend for dry skin x

Wow a little definitely goes a long way! I’ll definitely have to check this product out. I can’t tell if I would love or hate it

  3. March 27, 2017 / 7:38 pm

I really wanted to love it, I will maybe try mixing it with something lighter though. Thanks for the tip. Xx

I can only use it as a concealer as it’s way too cakey but I love their pro glow xx

I really want to try pro glow! X

  6. March 27, 2017 / 9:08 pm

This looks and sounds far too heavy for my skin – I prefer medium coverage & lightweight consistency xx

  7. March 27, 2017 / 9:09 pm

I still can’t get over how thick the coverage is !!!

  8. March 27, 2017 / 9:44 pm

I think this would be a no for me, I’m not a fan of thick foundations x

  9. March 27, 2017 / 10:13 pm

Woah, I love the amount of coverage you get bit it looks quite thick to me. I love using a sponge to apply my foundation so I have no idea how I’d get along with the foundation myself x

I’m all about a full coverage base and I love L’Oréal Foundations but won’t buy this one. I’ve heard so many bad reviews and I’m not into thick mousse like foundations.. they remind me of the Maybelline dream matte mousse!

Thanks for the balanced review. I’ve heard a lot of good things about this but for me I think it looks too heavy. It’s great to see it swatched to get an idea of the consistency X

  12. March 28, 2017 / 11:26 am

Much too thick for me and I can’t be doing with something that requires a full on work out to blend in! I’ve heard so many mixed things about this one, I just don’t think they’ve got it quite right this time around with the formula!

I really wanted to like this foundation because the coverage is amazing, however, this broke down around my chin and nose in just a few hours. As it’s so difficult to blend this really wasn’t worth my time!

  14. March 28, 2017 / 2:42 pm

This sounds great but I think for my extremely dry skin it might not suit me, but I love their True Match xxx

  15. March 28, 2017 / 10:31 pm

I really want to try this because it lasts so long but I’m not too sure about the coverage and effect it gives. I might just try it though. So many things to try because of you! I need a long visit to boots or superdrug!

Do you think this would be ok for dry skin?

    • March 31, 2017 / 12:06 pm

Probably not – it’s very matte and drying.. xx

  17. March 29, 2017 / 5:14 am

Although I found the coverage really good, this looked so greasy on me after a few hours I couldn’t believe it. I need to try it with some different primers I think as I want to love it!

I really, really like this foundation but agree more shades are needed! x

  19. March 29, 2017 / 9:03 pm

I only add a tiny bit mixed with pro glow and I like that but I definitely couldn’t wear this alone as it’s too thick for me. Wish we could pro glow here it’s so unfair lol. Great review Hun xo

  20. March 30, 2017 / 6:13 pm

I have seen so many mixed reviews of this but think I will stay away even though I love full coverage I don’t like ones that are too thick.

  21. March 30, 2017 / 9:30 pm

I’m one of the weirdos that absolutely loves this. It really works for my oily skin but I know that it has been a little heavy and in some cases greasy on those with a drier complexion. I really hope that they bring out more shades though! x

I have seen this everywhere at the moment with mainly good reviews. I don’t wear a full coverage very often so won’t be purchasing it quite yet! x
