Makeup Revolution Strobe Highlighter

The glow trend is not about to die down anytime soon. In fact, it’s bigger than ever and Makeup Revolution have added a new line of highlighters to their strobing powders which are simply beautiful to look at (and even better to use)

I won’t deny that highlighter is probably one of my most frequently purchased items, when I saw these had been released I hunted all the Superdrug stores near me until I found it.

There are numerous shades available and I picked up these three:

  • Rejuvinate
  • Radiant Light
  • Gold Addict

The intensity of the colour in the pan was enough to sell me on buying these. Although they look very pigmented, these won’t give you an immediate flash of colour. The powders are there to be built up in colour and if you mix this with Fix Plus, you will intensify the colour even more. I prefer to use these with Fix Plus anyway, but this is my general rule for most highlighters.

I found application quite easy with these and I prefer to use an angled setting brush to apply this rather than a fan brush. I feel this picks up more pigment given that the pan is quite textured. The angled setting brush ensures full control of product placement on the face. The powders are not chalky nor rough, they glide on quite nicely and as mentioned above, they are even better when used with a spray.

You can see from the swatches these give a subtle yet effective glow:

I couldn’t not do this post and compare these powders to the Laura Mercier Face Illuminator powders. I don’t own the powders individually, but I was lucky enough to get my hands on the limited edition palette as pictured. Of course there are heavy similarities, but the palette definitely packs more of a punch in colour and texture. The colour choices are extremely similar too, but I know a lot of you will not want to fork out Β£32 for one single powder. In which case, give these strobing powders a go as they are fantastic little dupes.

I jave one mine in Gold Addict and the texture is so dry I can’t pick up any product either with a brush or my fingers, so sad because the shade is so beautiful. Did you experience the same or was this just a bad pan I picked up? Loved reqding your post πŸ˜€
