Estee Lauder Heat Wave Illuminating Powder Gelee

The cult highlighter that sold out in a flash years ago has made a comeback! Heat Wave is part of the 2017 Summer Bronze Goddess collection and I for one am SO happy! I got this when it released as a House of Fraser exclusive, and as expected it sold out in a flash online. I can’t take all the credit though, of course my girls Kasie and Vicky went to great lengths to ensure this junkie got her fix! You know how it is – we gotta help each other out if it’s limited edition.

It’s back with new packaging and a new design on the pan. Sadly I don’t own the original Heat Wave that was released to compare formulas, but I can tell you, this one is a corker and with a tan it will look even better!

The packaging is quite sleek and sturdy with a circular design, this embodies Summer all over and I think it’s quite a quirky compact for Estee Lauder to have released. The first thing you notice is the sunshine style design in the pan, reminds me of the beach straight away and it’s very striking.

The formula is super smooth and in true gelee fashion, this glides on like butter. I don’t expect anything less. Although it looks quite dark on the swatch, as it shifts in the light, the reflective powder embodies shimmer tones. This isn’t chunky and it’s not glittery either. It has the perfect amount of sparkle in it, and will look great brushed over the collarbone too. Compared to many of my other Gold toned highlighters, this is certainly the lightest and I really like it.

Currently sold out on the House of Fraser website, this will be available nationwide at all Estee Lauder counters in the UK from 28th May.

It’s such a beauty. I’ve got a feeling it would be a little too on the warm side for my pale skin but nevertheless it looks stunning. I am such a highlighter hoarder.
