The Body Shop Himalayan Charcoal Purifying Glow Mask

It’s been absolutely years since I tried anything from The Body Shop, and there’s a new mask circulating on Instagram doing the rounds that everyone is raving about. Supposedley this is a dupe for the Glam Glow mask (so I hear) The Body Shop kindly sent me this mask to try and I was a mixed bag of excited and curious. I honestly didn’t know what to expect. All I knew is that it makes you glow and you know I’m all about that glow life!

When I first applied this to my face, it was burning. I completely freaked out thinking something awful was going to happen. I immediately asked my trusty followers on Instagram what the cause could be, only to be told it was completely normal. Phew. The burning sensation lasted a couple of minutes to then change into a tingling sensation. I left the mask on 15 minutes and could see quickly when my skin was drinking the mask up as it dried down to a matte mixture.

I could almost feel as though the clay inside was pulling out my impurities and oiliness to reveal my shiny (matte) new face.

One thing I quickly did notice after washing this off was my pores – they were gone. My skin felt much tighter and softer. This will be the charcoal taking effect and I quite liked how it made my face feel after. There are visable green tea leaves in the mask too which gives it a really raw feel and I really liked it! The Green tea leaves work to exfolioate the skin and of course are rich in antioxidents.

The main point for me is that it absorbs excess oil. I suffer from oily skin a lot so I did notice an immediate difference even after moisturising. It is recommended to apply this 2-3 times a week, but I think once a week will be fine. This is newbie for my Friday night masking!

I can honestly say my skin felt amazing the next day and I look forward to my next masking session!

The mask is available to buy right here.

Have you tried this yet?

Ooh. I may have to pick this up. I recently tried to Yes to Tomatoes sheet mask and I really like it. But paying £3.50 for one use is annoying. This sounds like it does the same but in a big pot 😍

Really need to try this. I love face masks. I’ve just had to chuck loads of sheet masks though as didn’t realise they were out of date. Sad times.
