Beauty boxes are so popular at the moment, it’s a great way to try something new. What if you could design your own beauty box? You can! You can purchase a one off box with no subscription or hidden charges for only £25 and pick products you want in your box. It’s called the Beauty Guru Box by Latest in Beauty and I’m kinda obsessed!
Latest in Beauty are known for their seasonal collaborative boxes, but I love the fact that you can make your own. It’s a more personalised service and a little treat box!
How Does It Work?
You pick nine products listed from the website and create your box. You can do this as part of a subscription service every month, or you can create your own one off box. If you subscribe to the monthly boxes, you receive FREE delivery and a FREE limited edition makeup bag with your first month.
They have 3 types of subscription boxes available to choose from:
- Beauty Guru, £18 per month (9 products)
- Beauty Enthusiast, £15 per month (6 products)
- Beauty Novice, £9 per month (3 products)
Or you can purchase the one off Beauty Guru Box for £25 (9 products) which is the one I am reviewing.
In terms of choice and variety, it’s a mixed bag of every beauty product, ranging from skincare, haircare, makeup, self grooming, drugstore, pamper and high end brands. I like it because it means you are not just limited to one tier of products and the fact that you can choose, means you will receive a box which will be totally useful.
Here are the nine items I chose for my box:
- Burts Bees Lip Crayon in Hawaiin Smolder
- Pixi Endless Silky Eye Pencil in Black
- Anne Semonin Eye Express Radiance Ice Cubes
- Wet Brush
- Baptiste Smooth Fizz Tamer
- Vintage Cosmetics Duo Pencil Sharpener
- Jurlique Rosewater Balancing Mist
- coQ10 Booster Oil
- The White Company Orange Grove Candle
- Caudelie Vinoperfect Brightening Essence
- Konjac Sponge
So as you can see from the list, there are eleven items, I was sent one too many. I have no complaints though, because I love the Konjac sponge and brush and would use it anyway!
I purposely picked a selection of makeup, skincare and pamper products. I wanted to have variety and these are products I would normally use or think about buying. The hard part for me was choosing what I wanted in my box as there was so much choice. I also got this cute makeup bag to store my products in. I love canvas makeup bags like this because they are great for travelling!
Let’s take a closer look at each of the products:
Burts Bees Lip Crayon in Hawaiin Smolder
I have been wanting to try these lip crayons for the longest time now and this was a great opportunity for me to. The colour is very much to my liking too and I’m a big Burts Bees fan anyway.
Pixi Endless Silky Eye Pencil
I already own two shades from this eye pencil range, and the one colour I was lacking is Black. I’m glad to say I finally own it and can now add it to my collection! These are so creamy and long lasting, I can’t praise them enough!
Eye Express Radiance Ice Cubes
I have seriously puffy eyes when I don’t get enough sleep and I usually store all my eye products in the fridge for that cooling effect. Radiance ice cubes to curb my tired issues is JUST what I can do with on a weekend or before a night out to look wide awake! I am very excited about trying this!
Hands up if you’re a frizzy haired girl? I know I am! My hair is out of control in the Summer, so I look forward to reporting back with the results of this brush! I love the rubberised texture too which makes for easy grip and handling.
Baptiste Smooth Fizz Tamer
Another one for the frizzy girls! I need this so badly in the Summer when my hair runs wild. I am already fan of the Baptiste range, so this is another must have for my Summer hair.
Vintage Cosmetics Duo Pencil Sharpener
Not gonna lie, I’m forever losing my pencil sharpeners so I always like to keep a drawer full of back ups. This is going straight in there!
Jurlique Rosewater Balancing Mist
I am obsessed with facial mists, especially in the crazy heat we experienced recently. I like to keep a small bottle with me at all times, and this was perfect for me because it’s travel sized and doesn’t weigh my bag down. Secondly, I am obsessed with Rosewater, so I was kinda sold at that.
Trilogy coQ10 Booster Oil
I’m obsessed with oils as a nightly treatment and this booster oil is great for anti ageing,. Sometimes your usual routine just doesn’t cut it and you need a little bit extra. I will report back and let you know!
The White Company Orange Grove Candle
I can’t resist a candle, and anything from The White Company is a must have for me. So I would have been totally stupid to not pick this intense smelling candle. I can’t wait to start burning it!
Caudelie Vinoperfect Brightening Essence
My skin can be quite dull at the best of times due to daily routine, and I like to use a brightening treatment at least once a week. Seemed like just my luck when I spotted this essence! I am looking forward to using it.
So there we have it, the Latest in Beauty Guru Box. If you fancy bagging one for yourself, you can purchase right here.
