I’m really loving Charlotte Tilbury makeup at the moment and as a continuation I wanted to share my thoughts on the much loved Filmstar Bronze and Glow palette. Contour and highlight is a very important part of my daily makeup routine and this palette fits in very well for me because it’s simple, quick and easy to use. There are two pans inside this palette, a bronzer which can be used to contour and a highlighter.

I can’t believe it’s taken me so long to try this, but at last I have and I can finally see what all the hype is about. The colour I opted for was Fair/Medium and this is a perfect match for my skin tone. The bronzer is warm but not dark and gives my face just the right amount of contour to my cheekbones. I use this softly on the tops of my cheekbones, forehead, jawline and of course nose. I have been using this daily to contour with and I love to mix it with my cream contour too.
I am completely in awe of the styling and the design of this compact. It really does give you that wow factor and does in fact make you feel like a movie star! The pans are cased in luxuriously gold plated packaging which is very sturdy, so if you clumsy like me, there’s no chance of this breaking. There is a diamond design on the front which is engraved with ‘CT’ logo and even the pans inside mimic the same design. I love the attention to detail and the outer paper casing is just as nice! I never want to throw it away. This is probably not the compact to carry in your makeup bag, since it is so heavy and it will get scratched. This is a vanity show piece!
The bronzer shade blends like a dream for me and it’s very soft to touch when applied. It goes on just like butter with very little effort required. I find this applies best using my Real Techniques Contour Brush and pick up and blends just the right amount of product. You can use any brush as desired.
The highlighter won’t give you a blinding glow, but at the same time, it won’t make your pores stand out either. The glow is subtle yet build-able and really does give off an amazing gleam. Like the bronzer, this also applies like butter. My favourite brush to apply the highlighter with is the Real Techniques Setting Brush which comes as part of a deluxe set.
This palette is an investment piece. It’s one of the most luxurious palettes I own and I am so precious about it. What I love though, is that yes, it is a show piece but the product itself is fantastic too and the pans are quite generous. The mixture of pearl pigments within the formula really help to shape the face and give you glowing skin.
Here’s how it looks on me (before I went Blonde!)
You can see how the light picks up on the gleam and it’s not too overpowering. I simply love it!
