I have been waiting with such excitement for the release of Charlotte Tilbury’s highly anticipated Hollywood Liquid Lips collection, and today I’m delighted to share my review with you. This matte liquid lipstick is designed to give you that gorgeous Hollywood Lip.

There are 10 shades in the collection and I have Dolly Bird which is a cool pale Pink. This muted Pink looks great against my skin tone and it’s a very wearable day to night colour.

I want to discuss the ingredient list, because I think it’s quite impressive.

Ingredient List

  • Sea Lavender (anti-ageing)
  • Hyaluronic Acid (plumps and firms lips)
  • Collagen Boosting (slowing down signed of ageing)
  • Beeswax (nourishing and moisturising)
  • Cyclopentasiloxane (long lasting)

This formula is totally lightweight. I forget I even have it on and feels so moisturising. It’s almost as though I have a layer of second skin on my lips. This is down to the ingredients mainly and I have to say, I’m impressed with the velvet feel of it.

Application

The doe foot applicator is just perfect for adding a slash of colour and plumping my lips. It honestly looked like I’d had my lips done or something! This will be down to the Hyaluronic Acid in the formula and it really did plump and boost my lips. I can definitely get on board with this because I am a fan of the fuller lips look. I like that the applicator is slanted as it allows for a precise shape when lining the outer part of the lips and there was no need for me to use a lip liner. I used this alone with nothing underneath and it was amazing.

The applicator looks almost like a crescent shape and this really helps to work with the contour of my lips. One coat was enough to show off the gorgeous Pink, but the second coat really plumped them, so I will recommend going for two coats.

Formula

I am in love with the mousse texture this has. It reminds me of the NYX matte lip cream and the colour applies so evenly just with one swipe. My only qualm, and it’s not a big one, is that for a few days I did forget to moisturise my lips after exfoliation and I found that the colour settled into the lines of my lips which didn’t look really awful, but I could tell it had happened. This was my fault though and when I did properly moisturise my lips, I did not experience this. There was very little transfer throughout the day and when I got home in the evening my lips were just a tad dry This will happen with any lip product though if it’s on for more than 10 hours, which mine was!

Do You Need It?

Yes is the answer to that. You do need it. I’m crazy in love with the curved applicator – I wish they made ALL liquid lipsticks like this. The amount of product which comes off the tip is perfect and I love how well it works along my lips filling in every corner. I can see this lasting me a long time too because a little goes a very long way. Dolly Bird is my perfect Pink and if you do love your nude shades. there’s a great selection to choose from this range.

If you have super dry lips, I do recommend exfoliating and moisturising your lips a lot because the product may settle in even more into your lip lines. A good oil would work well.
