The Pixi obsession is going strong and showing no sings of slowing down. The latest product to hit my desk is the completely mesmerising Copper Peach Palette. I realise this has been one of the cult favourites for a while, but I have only just discovered it and boy am I getting serious heart eye emoji feels.
There are six powdered eyeshadows in the compact and the colour selection ranges from Nude, to Copper to Peach. I’ve heard a lot about Pixi makeup being natural and good for the skin, and I was definitely excited to try it!
The mineral based powder eyeshadows are formulated with jojoba seed oil and Vitamin E. The pans are shaped almost like square gems and they give off a subtle velvet finish. If you want high impact colour pay off, this palette is probably not for you as it’a based on the more subtle tones and this works great as a daytime eyeshadow. For those that don’t like to wear a lot of makeup either, this will take you through to evening.
My only three qualms with this palette is 1) the way it pulls out vertically which isn’t too practical because the case is slim and rectangle. I am known for being clumsy, so I expect this to break at some point and 2) I don’t like the double ended sponge applicator it comes with because it’s unrealistic to apply eyeshadow with and 3) There are no shade names on the palette. This applicator isn’t a deal breaker for me too much as I do use my own makeup brushes. I’m just being extra careful not to crack the lid!
The overall formula is quite silky and smooth. If you wish to intensify the colour, I would recommend a spritz of Fix Plus because this will look amazing for a glistening evening look.
The shade selection is rather drool worthy and the palette itself will be perfect for travelling with because it hardly takes up any space in your makeup bag. If you’re after something glittery, this palette is not it – but that’s what I like about it. It has the potential to offer an intense colour pay off and it’s very easy to blend.
I have very oily skin, so I 100% need to prime my lids before applying eyeshadow, if you have quite dry skin and you’re in proper lazy girl mode, for a quick weekday look, I really think you could get away without applying a primer. The nourishing ingredients in the formula work very well to hold the powder in place.
One thing to note is, there are no matte colours in this palette. They are all satin shimmers, but they feel very creamy to touch. They are that soft in texture that I think you could even apply these with your fingers, especially if you are in a rush.
The gemstone inspired tones are designed to enhance the natural eye colour and although they are not individually named, I will number them for you so I can talk you through the selection:
Shade 1: Light Champagne (best for inner corner, brow bone highlight)
Shade 2: Bronze Shimmer
Shade 3: Matte Brown (use on cut crease)
Shade 4: Peach Shimmer
Shade 5: Copper Shimmer
Shade 6: Dark Bronze Shimmer
This is priced at only £15 which I think is reasonable for a decent selection of shades.
If you’re after a natural daytime look then this palette is for you. Don’t expect a explosion of colour, more so a subtle wave of colour.
