Liquid highlighters are all the rage right now and Makeup Revolution have bought out their very own version. There are 7 shades to choose from and these retail at just £6 each.
They are housed in glass bottles with little droppers to dictate how much product to use, and a little goes a very long way.
You can use the highlighting drops in many ways and the possibilities really are endless. My favourite is of course to apply these over my foundation to my high points, but you really can be as creative as you want and even use these on your lips to give a metallic effect!
The highlighters are very concentrated and have high pigmentation. You don’t need to go overboard with these at all otherwise you’ll end up looking like a disco ball – which isn’t necessarily a bad thing, if you were in fact attending a disco ball! Brighten, highlight and make your face glow with these little bottles of glow!
Shade selections as follows:
- Unicorn Elixir
- Luminous Gold
- Lustre Gold
- Bronze Gold
- Rose Gold
A lot of people have compared these to the Cover FX illuminating drops, but I think these are totally different. Yes, they do the same job, but in terms of formula and consistency there are visible differences. The Makeup Revolution drops are thicker and the glitter is quite chunky and glittery. I wouldn’t let this put you off too much though, because when used in moderation, they look incredibly beautiful on. I find these are best applied with a Beauty Blender (not too damp) or a small angle brush to avoid too much spreading of the product. I always recommend shaking the product before use too, as it will help apply the drops better.
I’ve read a couple of reviews where people have complained about the product separating from their foundation, but the trick is to use a small angled brush or beauty blender to apply this with (as mentioned above) The drops did not separate on me and I have oily skin. The trick is to matte down your face before hand, prime and moisturise of course!
I love the wet and dewy look these give off and if your after something to make your face sparkle – these are great drugstore alternatives. Glow is all the rage these days and now with affordable makeup, you can follow all the latest trends without breaking the bank.
Will you be picking any of these colours up?
