L’Oreal Paris Holographic Glow Kit

L’oreal have finally caught onto the holographic trend that is sweeping ever single makeup brand. They have released a 5 pan Holographic Glow Kit which consists of duo chrome highlighter shades – exciting! I knew I had to get my hands on this as soon as I saw the word ‘glow’ It is available to purchase exclusively at Superdrug and it’s priced at just £12.99 which is much less in comparison to other glow kits I have purchased in the past.

The palette is encased with holographic and metallic hues which compliment the powders. In this kit you will find a mixture of luminous powders designed to give a galactic glow.

I have never made it a secret – I am a highlighter junkie through and through, so I simply had to try this palette just for my own comparison purposes. I’ve never owned a highlighter from L’oreal before, and I was intrigued to see how it performed.

Shades

  • Purple Nebula (Frosted Purple)
  • Rose Delerium (Neon Pink)
  • Silver Supernova (Iridescent White)
  • Jupiter Green (Galactic Gold)
  • Cosmic Blue (Ice Blue)

The colours swatch well and I like how they look on my arm – however, I felt this didn’t entirely translate when I used it on my face. I really had to dip my brush in quite hard to get a good payoff and there was quite a lot of fall out. I tried it again with a denser brush, but again, I felt there was not enough product on my face to show the full extent with the colour off. I think it’s okay when you layer the shades, it shows up better. Generally, duo chrome highlighters tend to have less pay off on the face. This is just my experience and it may not necessarily be the same for you.

I do have slightly Olive toned skin, although I can be classed as fair. These types of colours would probably show up better on pale skin cares. I can’t entirely knock this palette because I have been using it as a inner corner highlighter on my eyes as well as a brow bone highlight. It has worked for me using it like that.

If you want more of a statement look, then I recommend mixing the shades to create your own custom colour. For an even more intense glow, I highly recommend using this with Fix Plus spray.

The unicorn trend is very much in full swing right now and if you wish to add your own twist, you can even use these powders over lipstick to create a metallic finish!

Ooh I like the idea of mixing to create your own shade but I was expecting a better colour payoff x

Such a shame the results weren’t too good, it’s a pretty palette but I like to dip my brush in my highlight slightly & then you can see me from the moon 😂 great honest post lovely ❣️Xxxx

These do like quite nice and probably a better price point than hourglass. But oh my the hourglass highlighters – they are the best!

It’s a shame the shades translate well on your face. This is one product that I’d buy but end up never using. Lottie London have a beautiful one too.

I dont think it would translate onto my skin either as we might be a similar skintone! Such a shame. It still excited me though!

I weirdly like how subtle they are but I agree if you are looking for something intense this isn’t the palette for you.
