ColourPop have got some amazing eyeshadow palettes out at the moment. When I placed my last order, I couldn’t resist this palette either for my more dramatic looks. I’m a big fan of their eyeshadow formula having already owned a few of their pressed single eyeshadows. When I saw this palette I was immediately drawn to the darker tones in it.
I am pleased to report, this palette does in fact come with a mirror (this makes no difference to me) and it contains 12 dark deep tones which contain a mixture of mattes and shimmers.
The Knot – Metallic cool-toned ivory
Moon Struck – metallic soft gold
Two Peas – Matte peachy beige
Candygram – Metallic pinky red with gold duochrome
Winning Ticket – Matte dusty mauve pink
FBO – Metallic pink violet
Look-See Matte cool-toned plum
Fool’s Rush – Metallic golden bronze
Pulling Strings – Matte warm saddle brown
Want U Back – Matte dusty mauve brown
DTR – Metallic silvery taupe
Sparks Fly – Matte deep plummy brown
There’s an equal number of 6 mattes and 6 shimmers which are perfect for those evening looks. This is pretty much a neutral shade selection, so if like me you’re one of those people who likes to play it safe sometimes, you won’t get any surprises in here.
I would say it’s quite an earthy toned range but the pops of shimmer can really change the whole look, especially if you want to create that spotlight type of look on the lids. It;s also perfect to carry around because it’s small and compact. Recently I’ve become obsessed with topping up my eyeshadow during the day, so this literally comes everywhere with me.
