As soon as these foundation sticks hit the stores and online, everyone was going wild trying to get hold of these! As always, I HAD to jump on the bandwagon as I’d heard so many amazing things about it! Firstly people were raving about the astounding coverage this foundation stick had to offer, secondly was the impressive shade selection. After one month of trialling this – I have sadly come to the conclusion that this just isn’t for me.
I tried so hard to like it because I wanted to, but the formula just doesn’t work for me. The price point is amazing at £5 and I didn’t want to give up, so I used this with a primer, without a primer, I mixed it with a liquid foundation, tried different application methods. In the end, the result was always the same – my makeup would have slid off, my faced looked cakey and cracked, my pores were huge and my face was covered in oil.
I have very oily skin and I found the texture to be quite greasy. I matted my face down loads, baked a lot and it still didn’t work. I’m not about that bash life where I put a product down. If I review something, I want to do it properly. There’s many Makeup Revolution products I love, but this isn’t one of them.
I wasn’t sure about the colours I should opt for, so I tried F6 and F7 and placed my order online. The colours, when mixed together were perfect. They applied and blended on like a dream if i’m totally honest. I loved it. Once the formula settled into my skin and after I had baked, it stopped looking so good. I was told by several people my skin looked quite bumpy actually, and that’s never a good look.
I have come to the conclusion that the formula is too thick for my oily skin. If you’ve tried this, I would love to know how you got on with it. Let me know below in the comments, because there’s a lot of people who love this.
I still have people messaging me asking me whether they should try this foundation as I was updating you all weekly on my Insta stories. My answer is YES, try it – just because I didn’t get on with it, doesn’t mean you won’t. Also, it’s only £5, so you’re not breaking the bank by trying it out.
Before I end this post, I want to say, I am LOVING the concealers still and I’m already onto my third bottle!
