Christmas came in July courtesy of Aldi, where I was invited to preview their Christmas collection this year and what a treat it was! They have so many new collections and selections out this year which are giving leading supermarkets a run for their money. I’ll be completely honest when I say, I’ve never shopped in Aldi before, but since I previewed their Christmas collection, I am going to! There is something for everyone and the price points on all the products are so affordable.
I was most excited about their Beauty collection which boasts perfume, body washes, hand and body creams which have a close resemblance to a well known brand. One of the scents to look out for is the Velvety Rose EDT which was gorgeous! I believe it’s going to be retailing at £15 and comes out in August – watch this space! I need to get my hands on it ASAP! It smelt amazing and left a lingering smell on me after I had sprayed it. Rich rose scents are big this year and I predict they will be everywhere at Christmas.
The star of the show for me is the Luxury Countdown to Christmas Advent Calendar which is only £50 and contains all the best from their bath and body range. It echoes a certain brand, who I know usually do one each year for around £300. I am pretty impressed with this set, and as much as I love my high end products, I am inclined to buy this one, because why not!
The food selection is out of this world and I have to admit I was most excited about their large dessert selection, which quite frankly looks outstanding! There’s something for everyone, they have so many food platters, dips, cheeses and meats. I quite literally didn’t know where to start with everything. I was all over the dessert table and yes I tasted pretty much everything. My favourites in no particular order – the profiterole tower (which is only £5.99!!) The large mousse Kit Kat style fingers (they were delicious!) and the truffles. My mouth is watering just talking about them! Christmas is all about the sweet stuff.
I am pleased to report Rose Gold still has a prominent place this year with a lot of home items and table wear catching my eye. White, Gold and Grey seem to be an occurring theme and everything looks very crisp and fresh for the Holiday season. The champagne and flute glasses are on my tick list – very much needed for the hostess!
Thank you Aldi, I had a lovely time sampling everything! What have you got your eye on for this year?
