Men can always be so tricky to buy for at Christmas. I really try to stay away from the standard socks and aftershave and try to give something a little different. This is where Murdock comes in. Murdock London specialises in Men’s barbering and offer a range of facial, body and scented products. I think I’ll be finding gifting the men in my lives very easy this year!
They have a range of Barber shops across London and you can book an appointment online and pop in for a lunchtime or after work pamper session. They’ve been barbering for over 10 years and have plenty of experience in giving the client what they want. Each shop is located in every hot spot of the capital, and they lead by example – right at the forefront of men’s fashion. Most of the barbers are open until 8pm, and this is perfect if you wosk in the City. There are 8 locations, each in the ‘melting pot’ of London – Soho, Covent Garden, Shoreditch, King Street, Sloane Street, Regent Street, Old Broad Street and Spitafields. Each Barber shop is beautifully decorated and oh so traditional. I love this!
Since they’re experts in barbering, it made total sense to launch their own product line, and what a line it is. There is something for every man in your life, be it Brother, Father, other half, Father in Law. I was rather spoilt for choice whilst browsing the site!
How To Give Good Face
The How To Give Good Face is made up of three products – Face Moisturiser, Face Wash and Exfoliating Face Scrub. This is available at £60, which works out at £20 per product. I think this is great value for money because it also comes in a re-usable metal tin with the Murdock logo on it.
If you’re looking to buy this as a gift for someone who is not really into skincare, I think this will make a great gift because it has all the daily essentials one could need. It’s quite fuss free and easy to use too. A lot of men don’t usually bother with a skincare routine, but each of these products can be used very quickly before or after a shower. I think the face wash will probably be the most used (especially on someone who is quite lazy) It’s a good size – you get 250ml of product. It contains leaf juice and peppermint oil, so it’s cooling yet not strong. The formula is very rich but light. You need a pea size amount which will be sufficient enough for the whole face. I can see this being long lasting.
Next up, we have the face scrub. This can be used twice a week which will help exfoliate the skin and remove any dirt or grime (which is just perfect if you work in the City) The scrub boasts ingredients such as jojoba oil, aloe vera, orange peel, sage and Rosemary oil – all of which is great for the skin. It has soothing properties and should be gently scrubbed into the skin for around 20-30 seconds to feel the full effect. Once scrubbed, it should be washed off with water to reveal smooth, glowing skin. You get 100ml worth of product, and this will be long lasting too, because you only need a small amount. You can see above, that a little really does go a long way.
The moisturiser contains 50ml worth of product. It’s quite light when blended in, not greasy and sinks into the skin quite quickly. I really liked the smell, it wasn’t over-powering or too masculine. It wasn’t too feminine either. It has just the right balance. The Shea Butter formulated inside which really work well into moisturising the skin and leaving it feeling so soft. This product probably has the most attractive ingredient list – Pine, Horse Chestnut, Clove, Sage, Rosemary, Cocoa and Orange Peel Extract.
The packaging is simple, and I like this. When I’m buying a gift for a male, I like simplicity and this set does it for me.
