Huda Beauty The New Nude Eyeshadow Palette

This is probably one of the most anticipated palettes of 2018. The Huda Beauty Nude Eyeshadow palette is basically me if I was ever to be a palette, or create one. I just knew I had to get this as soon as it came out.

When I posted about this on my insta stories, my DMs blew up because everyone wanted to know if it was worth it. I am going to give this a totally honest and unbiased review. I bought the palette myself, I paid for it. I had so many people ask me if they should get it for Christmas too.

Without further ado, let’s get straight into it..

The Nude Eyeshadow Palette

As with all of Huda’s large palettes, this one also retails at £56 which is considered pricey for a lot of people. If you consider the yearly use you will get out of it, then actually its just under £5 a month which is great value for money, if you use it all the time.

There’s 18 highly pigmented shades which range from mattes, to shimmer and glitter. I feel this has everything you need to create the perfect party, wedding or weekend look. I’m a HUGE fan of the halo eye look, and you have all the shades you need to recreate this look with.

There’s 3 types of finishes to this palette and one concealer which is to be used as a base for applying the shimmer hues or glitters.

1. Reflective Shades – shimmering pearl flecks with a duo chrome finish
2. Glitter formulas – infused with innovative silicones for advanced adherence
3. Pressed Pearl – layers effortlessly on tpp of mattes to add dimension
4. Concealer Base – to boost eyeshadow intensity

Mattes can be worn alone for a muted daytime look, whilst the reflective and pressed pearl shades really amp up your evening look and add a pop of colour which is just so striking and shimmery. I’d say this is a very versatile palette. I’ve enjoyed using all the colours and I find myself reaching for this a lot. I’ve always like the Huda Beauty palettes because the colours are so striking. This Nude palette is nothing like I’ve ever owned before, and I do own a lot of palettes!

I’m drawn to the soft berry, dusty copper, rosy pink and golden taupe tones. It balances the cool and warm tones very well and although it took me a few weeks to find the matte shades easy to blend, I now love them. The mattes can be worn alone for a muted daytime look, whilst the reflective and pressed pearl shades really amp up your evening look and add a pop of colour which is just so striking and shimmery.

This is probably Huda’s most high end palette. The packaging is quite heavy and sturdy, it comes with a mirror. My only negative is that, if you’re not a fan of glitter, then this palette is not for you. The duo chrome shades have light specs of glitter, so just be very careful when you apply this especially if you are a contact lense user. Out of all the palettes I own from Huda, this probably has the most glitter.

The standard points to note are that the palette is cruelty free, suitable for all skin types, talc free and fragrance free.

Here’s how it looked on me:

I picked my palette up at Feel Unique and I think this will make a great Christmas present for any makeup lover.

Too Faced Primed & Peachy Primer Review

I am forever on the search for a holy grail primer and although I haven’t found one yet, I have a few on rotation that I always go back to. When the Too Faced Primed & Peachy Primer launched, I was drawn to it immediately. This is because I love anything Peach, and the fact that it has a cooling blurring, effect which sounded very interesting to me.

At £27 it’s not cheap, and I do find with a lot of Too Faced products, they aren’t. I did buy mine at full price at the Too Faced Carnaby Street store, but usually I stock up when Debenhams have their offers on.

Cooling primer that helps to blur flaws and smooth complexion with a brightening peach tint that works on any skin tone for a soft-focus finish that’s lightweight, comfortable, and smells as good as it feels.

  • Blurs, smooths, and brightens complexion
  • Lasts up to 16 hours
  • Offers up to 12 hours of shine control
  • Mattifying soft-focus finish
  • Infused with our exclusive Comfort Matte Technology TM
  • Smells like Peaches and Cream

I’ve been using this primer for the last month, and I do quite like it. It really does keep the oiliness in my skin at bay. It smells like peaches, but it’s not overpowering. I like the cooling effect it gives when applied on, and most of it, it sits quite comfortably under my foundation.

It is housed in an easy to use pump action tube, and you only really need two pumps of this to cover the entire face and smooth and blur prior to foundation application. You can instantly feel a difference on the skin when this is applied and it does leave a silky effect.

I am willing to re-purchase this, but only when it goes on offer.

Have you tried this primer before?

Huda Beauty 3D Highlighter Palette Pink Sands

As far as highlighters are concerned, I am the biggest collector. I don’t know what it is that draws me towards the glow, it was just meant for me! When the Huda Beauty 3D Highlight palette launched, I felt a mixture of emotions. One of them being confused, and this is probably the case for a lot of people. This is because I was unsure on how to use it to create this layered glow. Huda designed this palette in mind to create a layer based 3D effect which is meant to look natural yet blinding. Once I read the instructions, I was good to go!

I was not surprised when she launched this, as it was the obvious next release for her. If you want to glow like the girls on Instagram do, this palette will help you achieve the look.

There’s four shades which highlight, they are shimmer shades which are suppose to enhance your natural features and give off that ‘show stopping’ glow. The formula is buttery and soft, this has been created to apply effortlessly on the skin. Remember when strobing became a thing? This incorporates that along with a banging glow.

There are four easy steps to apply this palette. Prep, Set, Sculp and Flush! It sounds quite long winded for a highlighting process, and I was a little sceptical at first, but it really works!

  1. Prep – Apply Capri a a base to smooth the skin and amplify the light reflecting pearls
  2. Set – Dab Santorini from the cheek to the temple to set and enhance the ‘pop’ in colour
  3. Sculpt – Apply Azores under the cheekbones to add dimension and shape (a bit like contouring)
  4. Flush – Sweep Ibiza on the apples of your cheeks for a healthy glow

That’s it – done! This palette eliminates the process of contour and blush, because it has it all in one for you. Sometimes when I am in a rush, I just use Capri (the melted strobe) with a flat foundation brush and highlight my cheekbones. It’s such a versatile palette because you can use it as an eyeshadow too, as well as lip strobe!

The prep colour is primarily known as a melted strobe shade. This is in place to create the base for layering, and I’m such a fan of this process now. I love it. It really promotes the healthy glow look which I love.

There are two editions to this palette, one for Fair to Medium – Pink Sands, which is the palette I chose. The second is Golden Sands which is ideal for Medium to Dark tones.

I’m a little bit in love with the packaging too. It’s so clever and really looks and feels high end. The only downside to report that there’s no mirror. In place of it, there are instructions on how the palette should be used.

Capri – a creamy rose gold (Melted Strobe)
Santorini – soft white gold
Azores – light champagne gold
Ibiza – pink with white gold shimmers

There’s one cream highlighter which acts as the base and then three shimmers. Four shades in total and a decent amount of product in each pan.

I’m very much in love with this palette. It retails at £40 and can be purchased at Feel Unique.

Huda Beauty Desert Dusk Palette

I’m back again with another Huda Beauty post! This time it’s all about the beauty that is the Desert Dusk palette. This is the second palette to follow since her original Rose Gold Palette launched. I have since reviewed and talked about the Rose Gold Remastered palette which I fell in love with instantly. Today, I want to share my thoughts on the Desert Dusk Palette.

The first instant attraction I had towards this was it’s Arabian inspired theme. The colours are extremely enticing and I was instantly drawn to the Purple. There’s 18 shades in total which are broken down into four different finishes – Matte Shades, Pressed Pearls, Duo-Chrome Toppers and One Pure Glitter. The shades are designed to be layered together and specifically compliment each other. The finishes are then broken down as follows – eight matte shades, six pressed pearls and three duo chrome toppers (which I just LOVE)

Arabian vibes with rich and luxury colours will definitely excite your routine as it has mine. This along with my other Huda Palettes is all I am reaching for!

“Our second palette is filled with vibrant, highly-pigmented shades that reflect the exotic landscape of the Arabian desert around us. We’ve introduced three new formulas to reflect all its dazzling mystery and charm, in particular the iridescent duo-chrome formulas just completely capture the mysterious desert mirages. I spent so much time to ensure that every shade was absolutely perfect, and every colour is so special to me. It was also really important to me that we take all our knowledge and feedback from our first palette, and create something that would showcase our growing experience and knowledge.” – Huda Kattan

A lot of people have struggled with the Duo Chrome Toppers and honestly, the best way for me to apply them, is using my fingers. You just don’t get the same effect as using a brush. By using your finger ensures maximum shine on the lids.

Steeply price again at £56, but I do live for colours like these and she has upped her packaging game a lot, so I can’t complain. I do honestly feel, if this is a palette you will reach for mostly, then it’s worth the price tag. The price did bother me initially, but because her main big eyeshadow palettes are one of my favourites, I am not too worried about the price. I am also glad that just like the Rose Gold Remastered palette, Huda has included the mirror. This is such an important feature to have in any palette, especially if you travel alot.

I own so many palettes in my collection, but the Huda Beauty palettes are ones I always reach for. I think it’s because they have a good mix of matte, shimmers and toppers which work so well on my lids.

The only shade which might be an issue to use is Cosmo and it’s the one that is pure glitter which is chunky. The best way to apply this is either with your fingers and gently patting it on. Or to use a flat brush and simply pat and build. I quite like that she’s included a texture which is different to any other formula. It’s a great party shade.

I’ve really enjoyed using this mixture of shades and I do feel this is a versatile palette. The matte shades can be worn everyday on their own for a more muted, subtle look and the duo chrome shimmers are perfect for jazzing up any look!

If you’re a fan of Purples (which I am) this is a must have for your collection!

Desert Dusk is priced at £56, and available to purchase from the babes at Feel Unique.

Nume Classic Wand 32mm | Hot Pink

When it comes to hair wands, I love to try out new products. I have naturally curly hair, but it’s quite frizzy, so I do like to manipulate my curls to look ‘perfect’. I had heard of the NuMe brand before, but only in America. I didn’t realise you could purchase them in the UK too. I’d heard great reviews about them too, so when I had a chance to try their hair wand, I jumped at the chance.

The NuMe Classic wand 32MM comes in three colours – Black, Turquoise and Pink. I opted for the obvious colour – Pink.

The Classic Curling Wand is made with a 100 percent tourmaline ceramic barrel with far infrared heat technology that naturally emits negative ions to combat frizz and add shine every single use. Designed to give a wide variety of hairstyles from tight ringlets to beach waves, it comes in three different sizes including the 19mm, 25mm, and 32mm. The Classic Curling Wand includes a heat-resistant styling glove and is safe for all hair types.

This magic wand as I like to call it, heats up to 210°c in seconds, and gives me curls for days literally. I can go about 4 days with the curls in my hair and I love it. I have beach waves in winter! The longer you wrap the hair around the wand, the tighter and longer the curls stay in I find. The best way to use this is to wrap the hair around the barrel towards the scalp and just hold it down.

32MM wand gives you beach waves, and you can brush your hair out after curling to add that tousled effect, but I simply run my fingers through my hair.

Key Features

Far infrared heat – sends a gentle heat directly into the hair follicle and out to the cuticle to protect strands over time.
Tourmaline ceramic – offers a smooth, friction-free surface to reduce breakage and naturally conducts far infrared heat and negative ions for healthier heat styling.
Negative ion conditioning technology – maintains moisture and eliminates frizz by sealing the hair’s cuticle while boosting shine.

I much prefer the clipless curlers because they are so much easier to curl with. There is also an easy to use on-off power switch with a light indicator.

The Look

Here’s how the curls looked on me:

The Nume Classic Wand 32mm is £60 and can be purchased at Beauty Bay. You can also check out the NuMe online store for their full range.
