Pixi MatteLast Liquid Lip Collection

I am very excited to be sharing the latest release by Pixi with you. You’ll remember I featured the MatteLast Liquid Lip collection on the blog last year, and this year they have extended their shade range. There are five brand new vibrant, bright, party colours and they are perfect for the upcoming holiday season. The colour selection from last year featured six neutral shades which compliment any skin tone and their extension of colours this year is no different.

New Shades

The five new colours they’ve released as follows:

Peony Pink – A Pink Mauve Tone
Prettiest Pink – A Bright Pink
Orange Red  – An Orange Red tone
Real Red – A True Deep Red
Berry Boost – Deep Toned Berry Red

The formula of these lipsticks is my favourite, and I still use my neutral ones. I’m so excited to be able to wear these colours because I have started to branch out a lot more with bolder shades. The formula is soft, non drying, yet so long lasting.

The petal applicator on this lipstick glides on so effortlessly and plumps the lips. if you’ve got dry and sensitive skin, this formula is for you because it is infused with oil which is so moisturising. I’m not a fan of drying matte lips, and this formula keeps my lips hydrated all day long.

• Extremely longwearing & comfortable, infused with rosehip oil
• Quickly sets to a matte veil while leaving lips hydrated
• Colours are universally flattering and wearable
• Colour applies smoothly and uniformly in a single stroke
• Unique Pixi Petal applicator provides even and precise application
• Not tested on animals
• Paraben free

I made a boo boo with my swatches and accidentally included Evening Rose in the row with the new colours (major fail) I only noticed this after I had finished editing my photos. I did originally swatch the neutral shades in my last post, but I decided to swatch them all together on one arm to show you. Hopefully it doesn’t make too much of a difference!

The shades retail at £16 each can be purchased at ASOS, Look Fantastic, Marks and Spencer and Pixi.

Huda Beauty Rose Gold Palette Remastered

I always jump on the band wagon when it comes to new releases, and when I heard about the Huda Beauty Rose Gold Remastered Palette, I will admit I felt a mix of emotions. The first thing that came to my mind was ‘What about my other palette?!’ and the second was ‘I’m so excited!’ When I first reviewed the original palette, I hold my hands up and say I was not a fan. However, the more I used it, the more I loved it. It did end up being one of two palettes I took on holiday with me and it was pretty much the only one I used the duration of my three weeks in Canada. I still stand by this statement when I say I do like it, however, I love the new remastered version even more!

There’s lot of differences to the new palette. The first thing I immediately noticed was how heavy the palette was and it felt a lot more high end and sturdy compared to the last. I complained about there not being a mirror in the original palette, and Huda has included a mirror this time. The packaging is floral, metallic and so gorgeous! It is also important to note, two shades from the old palette have been replaced and updated with the shades Risque, Demure and Doll Face. These replace Bossy, Shy and Flamingo. Black Truffle – the blackest matte eyeshadow I have ever used to date, can now be used wet and dry, so it actually also doubles up as an eyeliner. Perfect!

I just wasn’t getting a long with the original palette at first, and took quite a few uses for me to start loving it. The remastered palette is just simply amazing and I am in love with it straight away! The formula is so much more smoother, feels like butter when applied (swatched and on the eyes) and actually I find it so much more easier on application. I did struggle with the original palette because I found the pigment colours quite chunky. The new palette is just a dream!

I always gravitate towards shimmer shades and I’m so glad the colours in this palette and more finely milled. They are so much easier to use and there is zero fall out. I can use the shimmer shades with a brush now, whereas the original palette had to be used with the fingers to apply. The new palette definitely has a lot more of a ‘glow’ factor to it.

The question is, is it worth the £56 price tag? I’m going to answer this honestly. The original palette was not worth it, no. The remasterered version is totally worth it! I love it and it’s become my new favourite palette to use. I even use Moondust as a highlighter. If you’ve never owned any Huda Palettes before and you’re looking to invest in one, this is a great starter palette for your collection and your professional makeup kit too.

I hope this helps. I honestly didn’t just want to review this palette alone without doing some sort of comparison because I really do feel it’s important to see the difference. You can read my review on the original palette right here.

Happy Skin 24K Gold Collection Christmas Gift Guide

I love shopping for Christmas presents. Especially for my friends because I like to include at least one sheet mask. Sheet masks are so popular these days, and my favourite type is the Korean masks. I love how they make my skin feel, and they always smell so good. They are perfect for a weekend pampering or end of week treat. If you’re after a high end mask this year which does not break the bank, I highly recommend you try the sheet mask range from Happy Skin.

Happy Skin 24K Gold Collection, £22

The masks retail under £10 and they make perfect stocking filler presents. You can purchase the masks individually, or as one set which is the 24K Gold Collection. The set retails at just £22 which is great value for money. It works out at only £5.50 per mask, whereas if you purchase the masks individually, the prices vary between £5-£9 each. You are making more of a saving by purchasing the collection as a whole. You’re not limited on who you can buy these for either. Sheet masks are a great gift for any generation because they all do the same thing, and in my opinion, the best gift you can anyone is great skin!

Each mask is pure luxury. It’s enriched with real gold and bee venom. The hydrogel facemasks locks in moisture and leaves you with plumper and smoother skin,. I have used products containing bee venom before and I was rather impressed with the results. Obviously if you suffer from any allergies, I would check the ingredients are safe with your doctor. In most cases this is fine, but of course it is difficult to do a patch test with a sheet mask. This is why it’s best to check before hand.

24K Gold Hydrogel Face Mask, £9

This face mask is designed specifically for the facial area and helps to restore elasticity whilst moisturising the skin. It includes Gold powder, collagen (which I love) and plant extract to brighten the skin. This helps to promote a brighter complexion which is perfect for the party season.

24K Gold Hydrogel Eye Patches, £5

Under eye bags and dark circles is something which a lot of us suffer from. Eye patches are ideal for combating this and they help to de-puff, improve blood circulation. All of which leaves you looking radiant and much more awake.

24K Gold Hydrogel Lip Patches, £5

Winters can be so cold, and if like me you suffer from extreme dryness and chapped lips, these patches are ideal for combating that. The patches have a sparkle from the Gold powder, and this works as the perfect lip treatment for chapped lips which can be an annoyance during Christmas.

24K Gold Hydrogel Neck Patches, £5

The neck is one area which always gets neglected in my opinion. I think it’s great that we can now get masks for this area. If you’re worried about the ageing effects that occur over time, this mask deeply hydrates and smooths skin texture around the neck area. It restores the firmness which can quickly get lost.

I love these masks. I use them on myself and I would definitely gift them too. They’re so inexpensive, yet effective.

The 24K Gold Collection can be purchased online.

Huda Beauty at Feel Unique

I always speak about my love for Feel Unique, they are so on trend with all the fabulous new brands they’re stocking. It’s an online department store which caters for all your beauty needs. Now they are stocking Huda Beauty and I couldn’t be happier. Honestly, when it comes to makeup and skincare, I don’t shop anywhere else these days! The Huda Beauty brand has blown up massively in the last few years and the makeup range is forever expanding. The two products which have proved to be a huge hit amongst fans (and me) is the eyeshadow and highlighting palettes. She just keeps knocking it out of the park!

The packaging is so beautiful, and it definitely has a Middle Eastern vibe to it, which I am loving. I can’t wait to share my thoughts on these products with you. I am a sucker for all the colours, the pigments look so intense and so far, everything I’ve used from her range, I have loved.

There’s so much more I will be trying in future too, so keep your eyes peeled.

Rose Gold Palette Remastered

I did eventually fall in love with the original version of this palette. This new Remastered palette is on a whole other level of obsession though! I cannot wait to share the swatches with you guys, as well as the insane packaging. This seems to be the only palette I am reaching for at the moment and it’s really not hard to see why!

Desert Dusk Palette

This palette is basically my Arabian dream come true. It’s full of duo chrome colours, highly pigmented shades and mimics the desert! I won’t go into too much detail as I will be doing a full review on this very soon. For now, let’s admire the beauty that is Desert Dusk.

3D Highlight Palette Pink Sands

I really don’t need much convincing when it comes to highlighters. This palette encourages layering and glowing to the gods. It has so many uses and it’s versatile about how it can be used. Again, I won’t be going into too much detail as there will be a full review coming to the blog very soon. Keep an eye out.

Huda Beauty can be purchased online at Feel Unique.

My Most Repurchased Makeup

I own so much makeup, and I’ll always have those key staple products which I will forever repurchase. I always talk about makeup I am loving, or new items I’ve purchased, but I realised I’d never actually written a post about the items I am always re-purchasing.

Laura Mercier Transluscent Powder

I LOVE to bake. I make no secret about it too, and it really is the best way to keep my oily skin at bay. This is also the best way to set my makeup. I’ve used loads of powders and continue to trial out new brands. The one powder I cannot be without is the Laura Mercier Transluscent Powder. It lasts over 12 hours on me, hold my makeup in place and I just love how it applies. It doesn’t crease on me and it also keeps my large pores at bay. It’s also very lightweight and dusts off easily once baked. There’s absolutely zero flashback so it’s perfect for nights out and big events too. I basically use this all over my face because I like total matte coverage.

Beauty Blender

This is a total no brainer. I change my blender every 3-4 months. This is very important as the sponge can breed bacteria. Beauty Blender has been mentioned time and time again on the blog, and it’s another item I simply cannot live without. It is hands down the best product to apply foundation with and I wouldn’t have it any other way.

Too Faced Papa Dont Peach Blusher

I love the entire Too Faced Peach range and one item in particular I fell in love with this shade. The blusher matches my skin tone perfectly and I ran out so quickly because I used this day in, day out. The colour is a warm natural shade which is infused with Peach and has the most yummiest smell. The colour is very buildable and I love how it blends in so smoothly into my skin.

Pixi Makeup Fixing Mist

In my opinion, Pixi can do no wrong. I’ve purchased 3 back ups of this mist because I use it every single day and it just sets my makeup so well. The mist has a lovely rose scent which is not overpowering at all. It’s very subtle and leaves a gorgeous lingering scent. My makeup stays in place all day long without any patches or oiliness. The green tea is infused to balance and comfort the skin and it does not feel harsh at all. This is the final step in my makeup routine and I mist this around 5-6 times, covering my entire face

L’oreal Paris Brow Xpert

Gone are the days of me spending £18 on a brow pencil. It just isn’t worth it for me because they always end up snapping on the first use (Yes ABH Brow Wiz, I’m talking to you!) I would go through so many, until I started dabbling with drugstore pencils and actually found that they are better, long lasting and don’t snap. Even if they do, they are half the price of the ABH pencils! I am on my fourth Brow Xpert now and what I love about this, is that you also have a brow comb on the other side. I always stock up on these when they are on offer and the only pencil I ever recommend now is this one! Plus it’s only £6.99 and lasts me ages!
